Sparring Safety

  • All sparring will be controlled by the instructor on duty.  Class sparring will consist of light contact only.  Hard hitting is not acceptable.

  • All students must have their own mouthpiece to spar.  Males must wear a protective groin cup in order to spar.
  • Students must have their own sparring equipment once they achieve the rank of green belt.
  • In tournament style fighting for under gups, the match lasts for two minutes or three points (whichever comes first).  In black belt division, the match lasts for three  minutes or five points (whichever comes first).
