Little Ninjas

A positive way for your child to learn karate while developing social skills and self-Esteem

The Little Ninja program focuses on motivating children to develop basic motor and listening skills while learning karate.  It exposes your child to social interactions between peers and teachers alike, and helps him/her learn to listen to others.

The Little Ninjas curriculum consists of developing eight major skills (composed of physical and mental benefits) that are necessary for participation in any sport or activity:

  • Focus
  • Teamwork
  • Control
  • Balance
  • Memory
  • Discipline
  • Fitness
  • Coordination

Master Janak's personal goal is to help your child learn these skills in an encouraging environment that will help him/her strive to be the best at anything he/she tries to accomplish. The foundation of Tang Soo Do is self – defense.  The program is designed to teach students that karate is NOT to be used outside of the dojang (training hall) in any other manner than true self-defense.  If you know of your child and/or other students using karate training in any other manner than self-defense, please make me aware so I may remedy the situation.

You are welcome to watch class by sitting in the designated area.  It is important for students to learn in an atmosphere free from distractions.  Hence, please keep talking to a minimum.   Students may be cute when they perform karate moves and you may giggle, however, students may take that giggle the wrong way and think that you are laughing at them.  This of course, may hurt their self-esteem that is being enhanced in class.  Please be aware of your actions and expressions.

Uniforms are not mandatory until after your child has completed a full karate session (two consecutive months).  I’d rather parents not spend money on a uniform until your child has truly expressed an ongoing desire to take karate.

Karate can truly make a difference in your child’s life.  You will be amazed at what your child learns after every class and the rate of progress he/she makes.  Take time to review the student manual with your child to help him/her learn terminology, class commands/etiquette, and basic rank requirements.
